Caring Business and Pinders Healthcare Design Awards 2008
We are thrilled to announce that Ashefield our 18 bed extension to Allonsfield for People with Dementia has won a national design award - Best Extension to an Existing Home.
In 2005 a need for dementia care was identified in the Woodbridge area, primarily due to the lack of existing local dementia care facilities. We developed a plan to build an extension to Allonsfield and provide a purpose built dementia unit. The extension consists of 18 single bedrooms all with en suite shower rooms, additional day space, Laundry, Kitchen, Communal bathroom, office and relatives room. It is housed in a single storey building.
The Caring Business and Pinders Healthcare design awards are very prestigious within the industry and we feel very honoured and proud to receive such an award.
A fantastic gala get together of the care sector was enjoyed by all who represented Kingsley on the day. We would like to thank everyone who made this possible , including Ian Garrett our architect who designed the building, our contractor Ridells, Our bankers Coutts and Co and of course our staff for making all of this possible whom without it would not be possible to achieve such things.
